James Philadelphia – Whiskey & Wings

My travels took me through Philadelphia this past week for the NFC Championship game. I had to make my way to the city of brotherly love to witness history. After seeing themselves earn a trip to the Super Bowl, saying that the city was in jubilation would honestly be an understate. Everywhere I’d turn you would see someone sporting some Eagles gear. Not to mention every single person I would talk to couldn’t shut up about how excited they were to kick the Patriots butt (they used a different word) in the Super bowl. I was venturing around for brunch in center city Philadelphia that following morning and the atmosphere was just unlikely anything I have ever seen. Really something special.

I was looking for many places to visit on my trip to Philly. Mainly I was looking for somewhere with a good happy hour in center city Philadelphia. Out of all the restaurants I attended, I was lucky enough to catch this place on Wednesday.  James Restaurant & Bar is a classy joint located in Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia’s more upscale neighborhood. James however was far from too classy as it turned out to be the perfect formal setting for a nice dinner. They have an excellent deal running currently on every Wednesday which allows you to purchase a glass of Whiskey and wings for 8 bucks! Man I was in absolute heaven. I couldn’t believe that I only ordered it twice haha. The wings were perfectly cooked and glazed in a buffalo sauce that wasn’t too spicy for my taste buds. I can absolutely say I will be back at this one and everyone else should definitely check it out too!

Grilled Beef & Polenta – Villanelle NYC

Nothing like grilled beef and polenta to keep you warm ( 📷 by @signebirck )

If there is one thing in the world we know best about, its beef. It started from the day I was born. Of course my love for meat evolved past the typically chicken nugget. Today, my brother and I are in the BIG APPLE, New York City. Without a doubt, NYC is one of the largest food hubs in the world. With an estimated 24,000, yes you read that correctly, restaurants in the city. Big bro and I had to do it up big time.

It was around noon and we had began to feel our stomachs begging us to be fed. We quickly did a google search of the area, which happened to be restaurants in Greenwich Village. After stumbled through many different menus, we both decided on a restaurant called Villanelle.

Immediately as we walked in, we knew we had made the correct choice. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming. We settled down for some really unique cocktails. They were excellent as well. I decided to order the grilled beef and polenta and let me tell you something folks. This was hands down one of my most favorite meals I’ve ever eaten in NYC. The beef has such flavor and was cooked to perfection. All their ingredients are sustainable and local sourced, something you could actually taste while eating. Believe me when I say I will definitely be returning to Villanelle and so should you.
